Panaji: The Deputy Chief Minister of Goa Francis D’Souza had generated a controversy on Friday after he stated that “India is already a Hindu Nation and all Indians in Hindustan are Hindus”.
While defending the statements of his Minister Deepak Dhavalikar who on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “will help develop India into a Hindu nation”, he said, “It was always a Hindu nation and will always be a Hindu nation. You don’t have to create a Hindu nation.”
He also added that he considers himself a “Christian Hindu”.
He said, “India is a Hindu country. It is Hindustan. All Indians in Hindustan are Hindus, including I – I am a Christian Hindu.”
