New Delhi: Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) had announced the tariff hike to 8.32% for all three discoms (BSES Rajdhani power Limited, BSES Yamuna Power Limited and TATA Power Delhi Distribution Limited). It is not sure that are these price hike of electricity after railways let people feel ‘Achhe Din’ but it seems ‘Achhe Din’ had come for DERC.
The power tariff hike will be 9.52% in New Delhi Municipal Corporation area.
DERC Chairperson PD Sudhakar said, “Fixed charges remain unchanged. We will get power from an ‘ultra-mega power project’ in Madhya Pradesh. We are also introducing a new slab of 800-1200 units.”
Power Purchase Cost Adjustment Charges (PPAC) has been removed, so those consuming up to 800 units are likely to see a fall in their monthly electricity bill. But those who consume over 800 units will see a hike.
Since PPAC has been removed hence there will not be any effective hike in tariff. For the next 3 months there will not be PPAC and after that a review would be done in October.
If DERC finds a need for PPAC then that would be done. So if there is a hike it will be effective only in November. For the next three months there is no effective hike for those who consume up to 800 units.
