SP chief generate controversy over statement on rapeLucknow: Samajwadi Party’s supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had generated controversy after he tried to defend his party’s government over the brutal gangrape and murder of a medical research institute employee in Lucknow.

SP supremo said, “Look at the total population of Uttar Pradesh, it has a 21 crore population, if there is a state with lowest such cases, it is UP. State government has taken action.”

Mulayam Singh had also commented over media and blame over media that media is sensationalizing the incident. “Such incidents can happen, I don’t deny it but media should not highlight so much. State government is taking appropriate action in the case,” said Yadav.

Notify that a widow was allegedly raped and murdered in Lucknow. Her badly mutilated body was found on the outskirts of the city on Thursday.

IG Law and Order Amrinder Singh Sengar said, “We have found a woman’s body. A probe is underway. The matter is being dealt with seriousness.”

Additional Director General of Police for Lucknow, Sutapa Sanyal said, “The cause of death seems to be shock. She had multiple hemorrhage injuries.”

Notify that SP chief had previously generated controversy in April 2014, when he stated that “boys are boys, they make mistakes” over rape incidents increasing in state.
