Summons issued to Rahul Gandhi for allegedly defamatory speech against RSSNew Delhi: A court in Bhiwandi of Thane District of Maharashtra had ordered to issue summons to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday.

The court had asked Rahul Gandhi to appear before October 7, 2014 for his allegedly defamatory speech against RSS during Lok Sabha elections of 2014.

Rajesh Kunte, the secretary of RSS of Bhiwani unit had filed the case after which the court’s directive came. JFMC SV Swamy ordered summons to be issued against Rahul under IPC Section 500 (defamation) for allegedly accusing RSS of killing Mahatma Gandhi, while addressing an election rally at Sonale village on March 6.
