Lucknow: A photo had been revealed in which Chief Minister of Uttar Pradish Akhilesh Yadav had been posing with the main accused of Saharanpur riots Moharram Ali had generated controversy for CM of state.
Moharram is accused of allegedly inciting a mob to pelt stones and fire at the Sikhs and has been arrested by police.
Moharram had also allegedly opened fire at Sahastra Pal, a constable who is battling for his life in a city hospital.
At least three persons were killed and dozens injured in the communal flare-up in Saharanpur over a property dispute.
Earlier also, Akhilesh had attracted criticism when he had hosted a Muzaffarnagar riots accused.
Maulana Nazeer, against whom cases were registered in connection with last year’s Muzafarnagar riots, was allegedly invited by Akhilesh as part of a peace delegation.
A clarification had been launched by state government which tried to escase UP CM from the controversy. The statement said that it is a plan of few people to demolish the image of state government in between public by circulating it on social networking sites. The spokesperson said that several people come here near CM to meet with him and their are also other persons in the photo.
