New Delhi: Chinese Army had made a fresh incursion in Chumar area of Ladakh on Thursday Morning. It is the latest incursion at a time when the Chinese leader is in India on a three-day visit.
Notify that Chinese President Xi Jinping had landed in Ahmedabad yesterday and was taken around by PM Modi on a whirlwind business-cum-leisure trip, topped by a lavish Gujarati vegetarian dinner on the picturesque Sabarmati River front.
It had been expected in today’s meeting to reboot political and economic ties. The meeting of Modi and Jinping had been scheduled in Delhi.
The Indian Army too sent its forces close to the border in retaliation to the Chinese Army’s repeated incursion bids. It is being learnt that both sides were indulging in repeated banner drill.
A Brigadier-level flag meeting, second within a week, was held in Chushul, where the issue of intrusion of Chinese troops in Chumar and civilian intrusion in the Demchok area was discussed, the sources said.
The sources said it was believed that no breakthrough was achieved and the two sides may be meeting again shortly.
