Thiruvananthapuram: 117 members of Kerala High Court Advocates Association had move a resolution against former Chief Justice of India P Sathasivam’s appointment as Kerala Governor. They had requested President Pranab Mukherjee to discard the recommendation of appointment of Ex-CJI as Governor.
Kerela High Court Advocate Association Secretary MR Nandkumar said, “P Sathasivam was the CJI. It will impact the independence of judiciary.”
Notify that some sources had said that the Home Ministry has forwarded the file recommending Sathasivam’s name to the President for approval.
The government was going ahead with Sathasivam’s appointment despite objections.
Meanwhile another Ex-CJI VN Khare had also raise objection over it. He said that such a move will lead to more political intervention in judiciary in the coming years.
