New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh had rejected the report of plan of meeting with Pakistani counterpart during SAARC conference in Nepal which had been scheduled for 18 and 19 September.
In a tweet, office of Home Ministry said that Singh was of the firm opinion that terror and talks cannot go together.
It said, “Unless Pakistan stops terrorism and violence no dialogue is possible.”
Notify that Singh will visit Nepal on September 18 and 19 to attend the SAARC Home Ministers’ conference.
The statement from the Home Ministry came a day after Singh slammed Pakistan for repeatedly violating ceasefire along the Indo-Pak border and straining the bilateral ties.
Rajnath Singh had asserted that India wants good and peaceful relations with its neighbor but if the violations continued then the Indian Army will strongly retaliate. He said it on Sunday while addressing a rally in Palwal of Haryana.
He said, “Wanting peaceful relations with all countries should not be treated as India’s weakness.”
