Ranchi: A girl arrested recently by Ranchi Police on prostitution charges has disclosed that she had close links with Ranjeet Singh Kohli alias Raquibul Hassan, accused of deceit, torture and running a sex racket by his estranged wife and national shooting champion Tara Shahdeo.
Reports on Wednesday said that the girl, identified as Reena Adhikari, has revealed to the Ranchi Police that Hassan had close links with several top ministers of the state and used to supply girls to them.
While admitting that she was a part of an organised sex racket being operated by Hassan, Adhikari told her interrogators that she used to meet her high-profile clients at the room no 307 of the Hotel Accord located at the Station Road after getting specific instructions from Hassan.
The girl also disclosed that several top rung politicians, government officers and VIPs used to stay there and girls were regularly supplied to them by Hassan. The girl also informed the police that she once supplied girls to a cabinet rank minister of the state, however, his name has not been revealed as yet.
Reena Adhikari, who was arrested by the Ranchi Police from Badgai area along with eight other girls, is closely linked to Sonu Punjaban, the notorious Delhi pimp who is alleged to have been involved in running an organized sex racket in the national capital.
Hassan has also reportedly confessed to have been running a sex racket using young girls whom he lured on the pretext of arranging admission to premier educational institutes and providing them good jobs. “He used to supply girls to bureaucrats, politicians and judicial officials. Room-307 in a Ranchi hotel and two flats in a building were booked permanently to provide services to the high profile customers,” a police officer probing the case claimed.
The matter came to fore when Tara Shahdeo recently alleged that her estranged husband used to torture her and forced her to convert to Islam and operated a sex racket. Considering the involvement of VIPs in the sex racket run by Hassan, the case has now been transferred to the CBI.
