Kolkata: Central Bureau of Investigation had summoned a senior leader of Communist Party of India (Marxist) Rabin Deb in Saradha Scam prob.
Rabin Deb is a State Secretariat member of the CPI(M) and a former MLA. He has been summoned by the CBI as a witness in the case.
He is the first senior Left leader to be summoned by the CBI in connection with the multi-crore scam.
Sources claimed that Deb may not appear before the central agency during the day. Deb has reportedly told the people close to him that he will appear before the agency in the next few days.
Sources also said that his name surfaced while questioning a bureaucrat-turned-businessman who used to own media houses in Kolkata.
Meanwhile CBI had summoned to another All India Trinamool Congress MP, Subhendu Adhikari. Adhikari is MP from Tamluk in Purba Mednipur district. He however, denied receiving any summons from the CBI.
