Centre said can’t disclose names of people having black money abroad to allNew Delhi: Centre had said Supreme Court that Central government can’t disclose the names of people having black money in abroad.

Government said that it is violation of double taxation avoidance agreement of they disclose the names publically. Centre cleared the apex court that names can only be shared with concerned agencies.

Former BJP leader, petitioner and senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani has accused Central Government of Narendra Modi of trying to protect people with black money.

The apex court has agreed to hear the government’s plea on October 28.

Notify that it is one of the top most issues of 2014 General Elections by Bharatiya Janata Party to bring back black money stashed abroad.

Notify that Switzerland had said earlier on Wednesday that it will examine Indian requests for banking information on a priority basis and provide requested details in a time-bound manner. The Swiss authorities would also “assist in obtaining confirmation on genuineness of bank documents on request by the Indian side and also swiftly provide information on requests related to non-banking information”.

A joint statement of Switzerland and India said, “The Swiss competent authority will provide the Indian side with the requested information in a time-bound manner or else indicate the reasons why the cases cannot be answered within the agreed timeline.”
