New Delhi: Hudhud, a cyclonic storm is getting closer to Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coast leading to warning for Andaman and Nicobar Island. An alert had been issued for north coastal Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts.
The MeT department in Andhra Pradesh has also asked fishermen not to venture out to sea.
Hudhud is expected to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during next 24 hours and into a very severe cyclonic storm during subsequent 36 hours.
The system would cross north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur around noon on October 12.
OP Singh, the Director General of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) said on Wednesday that teams have been sent to Odisha and Andhra Pradesh in anticipation of Cyclone Hudhud.
