New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched its ambitious village development project “Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana” on Saturday. Under this project, each MP will adopt three villages and ensure the developing physical and institutional infrastructure of villages by 2019.
The goal is to develop three model villages each by March 2019 of which one would be developed by 2016.
Thereafter, five such villages will be selected and developed by 2024.
Modi call this scheme for the poor, farmers and villagers.
PM had launched the project on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan and underlined the need to formulate schemes in accordance with the changing times. The speed of change must also be increased, insisted the PM.
In Vigyan Bhawan, PM said, “Schemes are for every village but why is it that only a few of them stood out? Because some people there had different ways of thinking.”
Modi also memorize Mahatma Gandhi and said he always spoke about villages. “He returned to India in 1915 and began to fight for the rights of people in villages.”
Modi insisted that Parliament should be involved with every aspect of rural development in India.
Modi himself select a village of his parliamentary area Varanasi. He said MPs can select whichever village they want.
Modi said that he will go there, discuss with the people and decide.
He also said, “Let us take interest and create an atmosphere where every person is proud of his or her village.”
