New Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) had been ordered by Supreme Court on Wednesday to review the medical records of self-styled godman Asaram Bapu. Asaram is in jail in a rape case.
Asaram, 72, is presently in jail after a 16-year-old girl lodged a police complaint on August 20, 2013 accusing him of sexually assaulting her at his ashram in Jodhpur.
Apex court had directed AIIMS to submit the reports within four weeks.
Notify that apex court had directed the constitution of a medical board to examine Asaram for trigeminal neuralgia earlier in August. It had causes severe headache to those afflicted with the condition.
