Jaipur: 20 year old woman had allegedly committed suicide by strangulating herself with her dupatta in police station after which several police officials face suspension.
The woman was arrested in connection with a murder case, she committed suicide inside the washroom of a police station in Sirohi district of Rajasthan on Monday.
State women commission had ordered a probe in addition to an inquiry initiated by the Sirohi district collector after finding the circumstances of the death.
The SHO Ishwar Pareek and woman constable Tarawati were suspended and the other police personnel were sent to police lined with immidiate effect.
It was a suspected case of honour killing and the commission doubted the sequence of events, said Lad Kumari Jain, Chairperson, State Women Commission.
