#Calcutta: Transport and Sports Minister of West Bengal Madan Mitra on Thursday admitted to hospital as he had complaint of breathing disorder just a day before he have to appear for questioning at the office of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Kolkata in connection with Saradha chit fund scam.
Along with him, CBI had also called Trinamool Congress MP Srinjoy Bose and Congress leader Somen Mitra, who appeared for questioning on Friday.
Mitra was admitted in a private nursing home since Tuesday, left the health facility and reached SSKM Hospital on Thursday afternoon and was admitted in the Woodburn ward, reserved for VIPs.
Pradip Mitra, director of hospital said that Madan Mitra had complained of dyspnea (breathing problems) and was undergoing a series of tests.
Notify that these leaders have been summoned by the CBI for interrogation in the multi-crore Saradha scandal that led to lakhs of poor people losing their savings by parking their funds in companies of the Saradha group, lured by the promise of returns much higher than market rates.
As CBI submitted its second chargesheet, summons to both the TMC leaders came in the scam and a failed suicide bid by suspended Trinamool Rajya Sabha member Kunal Ghosh, who is behind bars. Many Trinamool leaders have been arrested and interrogated by the CBI in connection with the scam.
