New Delhi: A date of December 12 had been fixed by the special court on Thursday for hearing of coal block scam case which involves industrialist #KumarMangalam #Birla and others to consider the closer report of Central bureau of Investigation (#CBI).
Bharat Parashar, special judge had posted this matter for 12 December.
Notify that CBI had booked Birla, former coal secretary P.C. Parakh and others on charges of criminal conspiracy and corruption in the allocation of coal blocks in October 2013.
Meanwhile in its closure report on Aug 28 said, “The evidence collected during investigations did not substantiate the allegations leveled against the people named in the FIR (first information report).”
Previously the court had sought to know on what basis the CBI drew its conclusion to close the case and what kind of investigation it has conducted.
CBI had been demanded for clarification by court whether an element of criminality was involved in allocating the coal blocks to the Birla-promoted Hindalco.
In the last hearing, Special public prosecutor R.S. Cheema told the court that it can take cognizance of the CBI’s closure report filed Oct 21 as there was no prima facie “evidence against the accused to show their involvement”.
