Former Vice Chancellor of Delhi University Deepak Pental arrested on Plagiarism ComplaintNew Delhi: Former Vice Chancellor of Delhi University Deepak Pental had been arrested on the order of a Delhi court on Tuesday on charges of plagiarism, cheating and forgery.

Pental was the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University from 2005 to 2010. He has also received many awards, including one from France.

Pental is now in the custody of the court will be sent to Tihar Jail.

Warrants have also been issued against his post-doctoral research student KVSK Prasad, who is presently in the USA.

A petition had been filed by Professor P Parthasarthy earlier in which he had alleged that Pental had violated some copyright norms while presenting international papers.

A media report said that Parthasarthy accused Pental of cheating and stealing chemicals from the university’s science lab.
