Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned home on Thursday after a nine-day three-nation tour of Myanmar, Australia and Fiji during which he had a range of international engagements.
The special Air India plane carrying the Prime Minister and his delegation landed at the airport in New Delhi at 7.15 a.m. after a 14-hour flight from Fiji capital Suva with a two-hour refuelling halt at Yangon in Myanmar.
The tour was of great significance as he addressed the Parliaments of Australia and Fiji. He became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Australian Parliament and the first world leader to address the Fijian Parliament. He became the first Indian PM to visit Australia and Fiji after 28 and 33 years respectively.
