New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former minister of Delhi Somnath Bharti get relief from Delhi court who had been allegedly accused of racial prejudice in a controversial raid which targeted African women.
Notify that Bharti was law minister in AAP’s 49 days government run by former CM Arvind Kejriwal. He had challenged an order by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) holding him guilty of “racial prejudice and unlawful acts” during the raid which he led in Khirki Extension constituency in January this year.
Bharti on Friday said, “The NHRC did not take my statement while passing an order. There has been a political conspiracy against me and my party.”
Notify that Ugandan women were allegedly abused over local complaints of a sex and drug trafficking ring. Bharti was widely criticized for the late night raid and accused by the women of harassing them.
Now Bharti had been given ticket from same constituency by AAP for the Delhi election due in February.
