New Delhi: National President of Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Shah had clear the stand of #BJP over conversion and said that his party is against forcible conversions.
#AmitShah on Saturday asked other political parties in the country to support a bill in this regard if they were ‘sincere’ in their approach to secularism.
#Shah said, “BJP is against forceful conversions and that is why we want to bring a law. So-called secular parties should support BJP’s move.”
He said, “A public debate on the matter can be taken up only after arriving at a consensus among political parties.”
On the issue of ‘Ghar Wapsi’ programme by pro-Hindu outfit in Uttar Pradesh, he said that “the matter is before the court. I don’t want to comment.”
Shah also dismissed the allegations of #Congress Vice-President #RahulGandhi that #BJP was trying to divide the country on communal lines. He said, “There is no basis for that.”
Notify that #Opposition had uproar in #Parliament over the #conversion issue and demand for an answer from #PrimeMinister #NarendraModi.
