New Delhi: Shazia Ilmi, Former leader of Aam Aadmi Party had slams at AAP and said she will work to expose party in upcoming Assembly elections of Delhi.
While talking to media, Ilmi said, “I want to expose AAP for what it is and I will do whatever I can to that effect.”
“I will be campaigning against AAP for sure,” she added.
Over the rumors of joining hands with Bharatiya Janata Party, Ilmi didn’t answer.
She said, “I will let you know about my plans of joining BJP or not, give me some time.”
The statement of Shazia Ilmi had come amid reports of her joining BJP in the next few days.
Over the speculations of fighting election against Arvind Kejriwal, Ilmi had ended the rumors and clarified on Wednesday that she is not going to fight elections.
In a late night tweet, Ilmi said, “Was invited to speak at the National Defence College. Couldn’t take media calls. I am not contesting from New Delhi or elsewhere, calm down folks.”
Notify that Ilmi had contested the 2013 Assembly polls from RK Puram and lost by a slender margin.
AAP then wanted to pit her against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, but she refused. Rejecting her demand to contest from Delhi, she was finally fielded from Ghaziabad, from where she suffered a drubbing.
Ilmi quit the party lashing out at a “coterie” surrounding Kejriwal, just days after the party faced a drubbing in the Lok Sabha polls.
