Mumbai: Music Director Ismail Darbar and his son Zaid had been arrested on Wednesday in connection with assault case and granted bail from a local court.
They were arrested for allegedly assaulting an assistant director over a monetary dispute.
Darbar’s arrest came a day after his son Zaid and two friends – Mohsin Khan and Nishant Singh – were arrested in the same case involving an assault on an assistant director, Prashant Choudhary, in suburban Oshiwara late Monday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police S.R. Dhandhar said the arrests followed a complaint lodged by Choudhary Tuesday over a dispute relating to some pending payments.
Choudhary (30) was accosted by Zaid, Khan and Singh late Monday in the parking lot of their apartment and a heated argument ensued over the pending payments due to Choudhary, claimed complaint.
He claimed that the trio attacked Choudhary with hockey sticks and later Ismail Darbar also joined them in assaulting him.
