Chandigarh: Haryana Police had claimed that it had arrested eight accuses of brutal rape and murder of a mentally challenged Nepalese woman in Rohtak District of Haryana. It also said that ninth accused had committed suicide in Delhi.
Notify that body of 28-year old woman was found on 4th Feb in a field near a highway, gnawed at by animals and with key organs missing.
Two arms and the left side of the body were gone. The police said stones, sticks and condoms had been inserted into her private parts. All the men arrested today are from a village near Rohtak, about 80 km from Delhi.
The brutal attack has been compared to the 2012 gang-rape and torture of a young medical student in a moving bus in Delhi.
3 days before the woman’s body was found, her sister had reported her missing.
She said police did not take my complaint seriously. They said you keep looking for her…you will find her or maybe she will return.
She also said that if police had acted quickly, she would have been alive. She also demanded for the killers to be hanged.
