New Delhi: Delhi Police had dragged priests, nuns and children in buses hours after a massive protest in Delhi against Delhi church attack.
The protesters were protesting outside the Sacred Heart cathedral in Central Delhi.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh promised to increase security around churches and set up a proper investigation into recent church attacks in Delhi.
Father Dominic Emmanuel, a spokesperson of Christian bodies, was also dragged into a bus.
He said, “I told the home minister that this is happening under the BJP.”
Home Minister Singh tweeted, “I assured them that the present dispensation would never tolerate any discrimination in the name of caste, colour, language or religion.”
The protesters in their meeting with the home minister complained that the police were not taking any action against church attacks in Delhi; there have been five since December.
Notify that St Alphonsa’s Church in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj was vandalised on Monday. The police called it robbery and even filed an FIR or First Information Report citing a break-in.
