Mumbai: Bollywood singer-composer Aadesh Shrivastava, who was battling a relapsed cancer, passed away post midnight in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai. He was 51. Shrivastava had been undergoing cancer treatment at the hospital in Andheri for over 40 days.
The hospital authorities confirmed that he passed away after battling the disease hard for over 40 days. His condition had become very critical in the last few days. Actress-wife, Vijeta Pandit and her music-composer brothers Jatin and Lalit Pandit were constantly by his side.
“Mr Aadesh Shrivastava (51) expired at 12.30 am on September 5, 2015 in Kokilaben Hospital due to cancer,” Dr Ram Narain of the hospital said. Shrivastava is survived by his wife, Vijeta Pandit, a former Bollywood actress and sister of music-composer duo Jatin-Lalit, and their two sons – Anivesh and Avitesh.
Earlier, Aadesh’s relatives had been putting up a brave front while updating media about his condition. He has been undergoing chemotherapy but he is not responding to it. So, the doctors have stopped giving him chemotherapy. They have an alternate theory. Doctors are trying their best and Aadesh is fighting it bravely,says, Aadesh Shrivastava’s brother–in–law
Shrivastava, who battled cancer five years ago, was diagnosed with the same disease again. He was said to be in a critical condition when he was admitted to the hospital.
Aadesh is best known for his work in films like Chalte Chalte, Baghban and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. His last project as a music composer was recently released Welcome Back. It was the third time Aadesh’s cancer had relapsed.
