New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party activists took to the streets on Wednesday to protest against a BJP legislator OP Sharma allegedly abusing AAP lawmaker Alka Lamba in the Delhi Assembly.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had expressed his shock over the comments and hoped that the BJP would take action against its lawmaker. “Am shocked at language used by O P Sharma, BJP MLA, against a lady lawmaker. 2 days back also, he abused a lady MLA. Hope BJP will act against him(sic),” the chief minister #ArvindKejriwal had tweeted.
The discussion had been initiated by opposition leader Vijender Gupta of the BJP, who accused the ruling party of neglecting the homeless. Ms Alka Lamba intervened in the discussion saying that the deaths were not because of the cold weather but drug abuse. OP Sharma then allegedly made an offensive personal comment on her triggering protests from #AAP lawmakers. They rushed to the Speaker demanding his expulsion.
