#Hobart: #Australia cricketer #AdamVoges and #ShaunMarsh created the world record for the highest test partnership ever for the fourth wicket in Test Cricket history as the duo added 449 runs for the 4th wicket in the first test of the #Australia West Indies series being played at Hobart. Voges remained not out on 269 (285b, 33×4) while Shaun Marsh was dismissed on 182 (266b,15×4,1×6) as Australia posted a mammoth 583/4 declared scoring at a rate of 5.13 per over. The partnership started when Marsh joined Voges at the score of 121/3 in the 24th over on Day 1. The pair then scored at more than 5 an over and added 449 runs in 87.3 overs before Marsh hit Warrican straight to Bravo at deep midwicket.
Earlier Australia won the toss and elected to bat. Burns and Warner added a quickfire 75 off just 11 overs before Burns (33,43b, 7×4) was bowled by Gabriel. Steven Smith (10,1×4) got an outside edge off Warrican to be caught by Warrican at slips. Warner (64, 61b, 11×4) was the third wicket to fall on the score of 121, as he was caught by Ramadin trying to flick Warrican. Then began the Voges –Marsh world record partnership of 449, – also the highest partnership for any wicket in Australia breaking the 405 between Barnes and Bradman in Sydney, 1946.
