Arunachal Pradesh is facing political upheaval following a section of congress MLAs revolting against Nabam Tuki and as a fallout there was legal battle in Guwahati High Court and in Supreme Court.
Governor J.P Rajkhowa on December 18 has submitted report to Centre where he cited break down of law and order in the state. He even cited that he is under threat.

Nabam Tuki while talking to ET said, “Officially I am not communicated anything in this regard. I got to know about the development from the reports. I cannot understand why the union cabinet is in such hurry when the matter is pending in the Supreme Court. They could have waited for the Court verdict and the Republic Day function to be over.”

Nabam Tuki added, “There is no law and order problem here. There is no case for President’s rule in Arunachal. The Centre must understand that Arunachal is a frontier state bordering international countries and a tribal state. Never president’s rule is imposed in Arunachal. This is a wrong decision and politically motivated. This shows the vendetta of the NDA governments to ruling congress.”

Nabam Tuki said that NDA government wants to topple the Congress government of Arunachal. “This is the sheer misuse of power. Democracy is being murdered. NDA government is working to weaken the democracy. BJP does not have the numbers to form the government.”

The union cabinet’s recommendation has perplexed the dissident camp which is led by Kalikho Pul. A MLA of dissident camp, who do not want to quoted, “We are taking stock of development. However we did not expect President’s rule.”

National executive member of BJP, Tapir Gao told ET, “Union cabinet’s decision will provide relief to the public of the state for there has been lawlessness and no administration for last several months. We are fighting against Tuki and therefore supported government of Pul. In future also we will support anti-Congress formation as we have only 11 MLAs in the house of 60.”
