A 30-year-old Dalit law student was allegedly raped and murdered in Ernakulam in Kerala on April 28. The woman was found dead inside her home with several stab wounds on her body and even on her private parts. Her intestines were found hanging out of her body after the incident.
Even five days after the brutal murder, no arrests have been made yet. Police claim that two investigation teams have been formed which are working on the leads that have been found.
Police are waiting for chemical analysis to ascertain whether there was rape or an attempt to rape before the murder. They have also claimed that there were no signs of forcible entry into the house.
“Rape still has to be confirmed. We are awaiting the post-mortem report which will be handed over to us today,” said a senior police officer handling the case. The police have said she was strangled and smothered, and that she was hit very hard on the head before she died.
