Chhattisgarh 40-year-old son held for raping 70-year-old mother

#RAIPUR : The Bemetara Police in Chhattisgarh arrested a 40-year-old man on charges of repeatedly raping his 70-year-old mother. The elderly woman shared her ordeal with her daughter who lodged a complaint with police. The cops refused to reveal the name of the accused to protect the identity of the woman.

Talking to TOI, Bemetara additional superintendent of police Jyoti Singh said, “The arrested man is mentally stable and healthy. Prima facie there is no reason to consider him otherwise. Under the influence of liquor, he often abused his mother and last month, he raped her.”

The victim in her complaint has mentioned that she remained quiet when it happened for the first time on April 14, but when her son again tried to molest her; she shared her ordeal with her daughter who helped her in taking the matter to police.

The 70-year old woman has termed her son a “sexual pervert”. Still in a state of shock, she told cops, “He did wrong with me. I told him you are my son, I gave birth to you. Don’t do this to me. But he didn’t hear a word. He will pay for this. God will not spare him”.

She also informed that his son tried to enter in the bathroom and chased her. She saved herself by running out of the house. However, the son did not stop there. Instead of drowning in guilt, he pressurized his elderly mother for sexual relations for the second time last week. The woman was then forced to lodge complaint with police who arrested the son on Thursday.

“It’s a heinous act. How can a man become so savage and go for such a brutal act. He has been booked under section 375-376 of IPC,” added Jyoti Singh.
