#Mumbai : AIB comedian Tanmay Bhat is in trouble after the Mumbai Police Special Branch decided to investigate his video purportedly mocking veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party have filed police complaints against Bhat for his comedy gig on Mangeshkar and Tendulkar.
The police has asked Internet service providers to block Bhat’s video.
The Shiv Sena has also demanded action against him for his video titled “Sachin vs Lata Civil War”. The Sena asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take stringent action against AIB and Bhat for allegedly seeking to vitiate social harmony through videos on Mangeshkar and Tendulkar.
“I have written to the Maharashtra Chief Minister requesting him to investigate the matter and take action. The video is an insult to the two stars. This is wrong use of freedom of expression. I have sent a memorandum to the Mumbai Police also that there should be action,” Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorkhe said.

“This act is condemnable, these videos are just mere publicity stunts. Forgiveness won’t do, these people should be caught on the road and beaten up. Cyber cell and Shivaji Park Police Station should arrest them, that’s our demand. We need an FIR against them. We will protest and he won’t be able to come out on the road. We won’t let his shows happen anymore,” MNS leader Ameya Kopekar said.
