Unbelievable World’s cheapest smartphone #Namotel Acche Din launched at Rs 99!

#Bengaluru : Promoter Madhava Reddy unveiled the world’s cheapest smart phone Namotel Acche Din for Rs 99, during a press conference in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Reddy has claimed that Namotel is the world’s cheapest phone with 4 inch display and it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and powered by 1.3GHz quadcore processor alongwith 1 GB RAM.

The smartphone will be available for booking starts from may 17th to till 25th May.

In late April, Docoss, a technology firm based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, announced its intention to launch a new smartphone named Docoss X1 for Rs. 888 in the Indian market. They unveiled the look and key specifications of the phone on their official Twitter page.

In Feburary this year, Noida-based mobile handset maker Ringing Bells launched India’s most affordable smartphone for under Rs 500. Priced at Rs 251, the launch was in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for ’empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story’.
A couple of days later after its launch, the Freedom 251 official website crashed within hours of opening up for pre-orders, thus unable to register any bookings. Besides utter chaos at the company’s Noida-based head office, there were also reports of copyright infringements.

The scene at the head office was somewhat chaotic as a crowd of nearly 100 people, including locals, was screaming to be given the Rs.251 smartphone. Some even offered to pay double the money for booking one. Hundreds of people crowding in front of the office were angry for not being able to get their hands on the cheap handset.
Despite this, Ringing Bells Pvt claimed to have received nearly five crore registrations in just two days of opening up for online pre-orders.
In March, Noida Police has registered a case of cheating against the owner of Ringing Bells following a complaint filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya. Somaiya, in his complaint, said it was not possible to manufacture a smartphone at Rs 251 and the owner of the company was fooling the people.
