New Delhi: UK Journalist Piers Morgan was trending on Twitter on Wednesday ever since he posted a tweet where he mocked India for celebrating over winning just two medals at Rio Olympics 2016.
Piers, who is an Arsenal fan, and is known to have a go at trollers, was hogging the limelight on Twitter soon after he posted a tweet which read, “Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarassing is that?”
Minutes after he posted his tweet, thousands of Indian fans trolled Piers for it.
While several celebrities took a dig at Piers, Virender Sehwag – who has been in news lately for his brilliant tweets, didn’t waste the opportunity and slammed Piers with two tweets.
Sehwag started with a tweet where he reminded Piers that England were yet to win a World Cup, despite being the inventors of the sport.
Piers soon replied saying had Kevin Pietersen still been playing, England would have won the World Cup.
The battle didn’t end there as Viru reminded Piers that KP was originally from South Africa.
Piers mellowed down after Sehwag’s second tweet and said that people should be celebrating coming first and not other achievements.
