New Delhi: Petrol price was Thursday hiked by 58 paise per litre, the second consecutive increase in rates. However, diesel price was slashed by 31 paise a litre.
Petrol will cost Rs 64.05 a litre from midnight as against Rs 63.47. Similarly, diesel will cost Rs 52.63 a litre as compared to Rs 52.94 a litre.
Rates were last hiked by Rs 3.38 per litre in case of petrol and Rs 2.67 in diesel on September 1.
IOC and other state-owned fuel retailers, Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) revise petrol and diesel price on 1st and 16th of every month based on international oil rate and foreign exchange ratio in the preceding fortnight.
