NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday said the elected MLAs and parliamentary board will decide the next chief ministerial candidate.
His remark comes amid a strife within the party between the Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav and a senior party leader and his uncle, Shivpal Yadav.
Mulayam, however, said that there was no rift in the party. “We never had any division in our family,” he said.
Speaking at a press conference in Lucknow, Mulayam also said that the issue of Uniform Civil Code should be left to religious leaders.
