Lucknow: With an eye on the 2017 Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah will launch Parivartan Yatra’ from Saharanpur on Saturday.
A public rally on the occasion would be addressed by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and others.
The BJP will launch four ‘Parivartan Yatras’ from Saharanpur, Lalitpur, Sonebhadra and Ballia.
State leaders will play a key role in BJP’s bid to capture power in Uttar Pradesh which will start from various corners of the state between November 5-9.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address multiple public rallies during the ‘Parivartan Yatras’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address six regional meetings during the 192-day-long exercise ending in December 24, while Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Kalraj Mishra, two leading saffron faces from the state, will be the key speaker at 10 meetings each.
BJP President Amit Shah will address 10 other rallies. The party has planned 30 rallies of its national leaders. Uma Bharti will attend six of them.
BJP has 71 Lok Sabha MPs from the state which has 80 seats.
BJP allies Ram Vilas Paswan and Ramdas Athawale, two Dalit faces of the NDA, and Uprendra Kushwaha will also be joining the yatras.
