Mumbai: Navjot Singh Sidhu has been an integral part of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. But the cricketer-turned-politician, who is now a minister in the Punjab cabinet, may find it difficult to feature in the show.
According to a report in DNA, Sidhu didn’t shoot for one of the recent episodes probably because he is not able to travel from Punjab and manage his schedule.
“Sidhuji didn’t show up for the episode we shot with Sonakshi Sinha this weekend. I think he is finding it hard to maintain his travel schedule while attending to his new responsibilities as a State Minister,” the DNA report quoted a source as saying.
Last week, Sidhu reportedly scandalised many on the sets of the show by cracking a distasteful joke.
“This is not the kind of humour that a respected politician, parliamentarian and State Minister should be heard having on television. Everyone was shocked by Sidhuji’s sudden swerve into sleaze. Even Kapil who is known for his clean humour was embarrassed,” a source from the show said.
Well, trouble is mounting for Sharma! Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar have already distanced themselves from Sharma, after the infamous mid-flight fight. And now in case Sidhu fails to make it to the show regularly owing to the commitments towards his new responsibility as Tourism Minister, Sharma may land in a deeper mess.
