Arvind Kejriwal administers oath to AAP MLAs – Don’t leave your ‘pavitra party’

Arvind Kejriwal administers oath to AAP MLAs - Don't leave your 'pavitra party'New Delhi: Amid reports of rumblings with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the loss of face in the MCD polls, party boss Arvind Kejriwal as administered an oath of allegiance to them and demanded that they promise to not desert the party.

Speaking to AAP MLAs, Arvind Kejriwal warned them that the BJP may, allegedly, try to buy them over. They may offer you even Rs 10 crore, he said, adding that God will squeeze out a bigger amount from those who will betray the party.

“We had no aukat (standing) but then a miracle happened and we became CM, MLAs. If you betray this sacred movement then it will be akin to you ditching the God. If you abandon this movement, party and the aspiration of the people then you will be never happy in life,” he said.

Kejriwal then went on to administer an oath to the MLAs. Asking them to stand up, he said, “We will take oath from our heart.”

Main apne bhagwan ko hazir nazir maan ke shapat leta houn ki main kabhi bhiapni pavitra party aur is andolan ko dhoka ki nahi dunga (I swear in the name of God that I will never abandon my sacred party and will never betray the movement).”

The oath of allegiance was administered by Kejriwal amid reports that many party leaders and workers were disillusioned with the party leadership.

However, publicly, the party is maintaining that EVMs were rigged by the BJP to secure a victory in the MCD polls.

Party leader Somnath Bharti said that it is intriguing that the people voted for BJP despite the alleged poor track record of the BJP-ruled MCD in the last ten years.

Dukhi Dilli ne BJP ko aisa mandate kaise de diya ye bohut bada salwaal hain. (The big question is why an upset Delhi gave such a mandate to the BJP),” he said.

Bharti claimed that some party leaders have evidence to prove that there were problmes with the EVMs used in the MCD polls and promised to make them open soon.

Bharti added that voters in part of his constituency have even offered to give an affidavit to assert that they voted for the AAP.
