N BJP is on a talent hunt to induct young and dynamic faces to articulate, in contemporary idiom, the party's ideological and political message for " New India " EW DELHI: BJP is on a talent hunt to induct young and dynamic faces to articulate, in contemporary idiom, the party’s ideological and political message for ” New India ” as envisioned by the Narendra Modi government.

While the thrust on young faces has been talked about by Modi on several occasions in the last three years, he reiterated the same during BJP’s national executive meet in Bhubaneswar earlier this month, lending it more urgency. On the back of a string of electoral victories, the most spectacular being in Uttar Pradesh , the BJP leadership is confident that the government’s policies have been received well on the ground and need to be communicated more effectively to reach out to the largest audience.

The PM has tried to drive home this point repeatedly during the meetings of the BJP parliamentary party. According to party sources, the PM is keen that new faces from across the country are identified to convey BJP’s message and establish the party among a whole new generation of Indians. There have been several suggestions, including holding of mock Parliaments, debates and discussion sessions.
The party wants the new faces to be spokespersons the youth of the country can identify with, sources said. Apart from the ability to articulate and argue the party line well, BJP wants the new faces to be “capable of doing proper research into public issues and have a clean background”, a source said. Modi is convinced that reworking of the narrative and its articulation would pay rich dividends.
Till now, the vigorous membership drive was about adding to the party’s ranks on the ground and thus strengthen the organisational setup. The next stage is to get on board efficient public communicators to take control of the narrative, sources said. Modi recently told party colleagues that the next Lok Sabha polls are going to be fought on the social media platforms and asked them to make full use of their smart phones to reach out to all sections.
