Panchkula: Honeypreet Insan This woman has been making headlines since she has been spotted accompanying Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to the CBI court and later in an Army chopper after was convicted by the CBI court in a 2002 rape case.
She is believed to be a confidant of Gurmeet Ram Rahim and is also speculated to be the next successor of MSG to head the controversial Dera Sacha Sauda.
Here, we take a brief look at the ‘mystery’ woman whose proximity with the Dera chief has become the talk of the town:
Honeypreet is the third daughter of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
However, she is not the biological child of the ‘influential godman’ but was adopted by him in the year 2009.
Her original name is Priyanka Taneja and she hails from Fatehabad in Haryana. She was married to Vishwas Gupta of Panchkula in 1998; however the duo later headed for a separation in 2011.
Reports suggest that Vishwas Gupta, in his divorce petition, alleged that Ram Rahim had an illicit relationship with Honeypreet and also accused the Dera chief of keeping his wife away from him. Following this, Honeypreet accused him of dowry and domestic violence and started living at the Dera.
Vishwas Gupta and Honeypreet are officially divorced now.
Honeypreet is believed to be closest to Ram Rahim among all his children. At the Dera headquarters in Sirsa, Honeypreet plays an important role in the operation of the tent and her word is believed to have the authority of Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Honeypreet has also acted with Ram Rahim in two series of MSG. On her social media profiles, she describes herself as Papa’s Pari (Dad’s Angel), philanthropist, director, editor and an actress!. Her Facebook page has over five lakh likes.
As per the report, Honeypreet has declared herself as a heir of Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh at Dera Sacha Sauda on her Facebook page. Interestingly, after he was made an accused in the rape and sexual exploitation case in the year 2007, Ram Rahim had anointed his son Jasmeet as his successor.
