New Delhi : More than Two lakh Ninety four thousand electors are eligible to exercise their franchise in the upcoming Bawana Assembly by poll in National capital New Delhi. The elections will take place by EVMs machines that are equipped with Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) at all polling stations.
According to Shining India News public opinion and Survey reports Aam Aadmi Party is leading in Bawana assembly,
AAP : 39.87% { + – 3% }
BJP : 25.36% { + – 3% }
INC : 28.32% { + – 3% }
OTH : 02.13% { + – 1% }
ND : 04.32 { Not Decided voter’s and silent voter’s }
The election is scheduled to be held on August 23, 2017, and the counting will take place on August 28.
The Chief electoral officer of National capital said, ” Out of 2,94,589 electors, 4,102 fall in the age group of 18-19. The number of male, female and third gender electors are — 1,64,114, 1,30,143 and 25 respectively. The average number of voters per polling station stands at 776.”
The CEO Office in its statement also said the bypoll would be carried out through 379 polling stations.
Eight candidates are in the fray for the by-election that has been necessitated after the seat, reserved for the Scheduled Caste category, fell vacant in March post the resignation of sitting AAP party legislator Ved Prakash.
Notify that Prakash had won the seat on an AAP ticket but had resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the BJP. He is now the candidate of the BJP party for the bypoll. The AAP has named Ramchandra as its candidate while the Congress has fielded former three time MLA of Bawana Surendra Kuma. Kumar is presently holds the post of Congress district president.
