DUSU Elections 2017: 1.3 lakh Delhi University students to vote today.NewDelhi: Nearly 1.3 lakh voters will decide on Tuesday which party gets to rule Delhi University next year. The first stage of voting is currently underway and will continue till 1 pm. The second stage of polls would start at 3 pm and end at 7.30pm.

The top contenders in DUSU 2017 elections are Congress-backed National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and BJP-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Others in the fray are All India Students Association (AISA), Birsa Ambedkar Phule Students Association (BAPSA) and Students’ Federation of India (SFI).

President: Rocky Tuseed

Vice-president: Kunal Sehrawat

Secretary: Meenakshi Meena

Joint Secretary: Avinash Yadav

2. ABVP

President: Rajat Choudhary

Vice-president: Paarth Rana

Secretary: Mahamedhaa Nagar

Joint Secretary: Uma Shankar

3. Students’ Federation of India (SFI)

President: Rafat Alam

Vice-president: Jitendra Kumar

Secretary: Kolisetty Lakshmi

Joint Secretary: Roshan

4. AISA

President: Parul Chauhan

Vice-president: Aditya Baibhav

Secretary: Jaishree

Joint Secretary: Akash Gupta

However, the DUSU Election results may not be declared on Wednesday – the day after polling. The varsity has written to Delhi high court seeking clarity on this.
