Narada sting case: Trinamool MP Sougata Roy appears before CBI in KolkataKolkata: Trinamool Congress lawmaker Sougata Roy appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Narada case on Wednesday.

Roy was summoned by the probe agency on July 12.

Roy is one of the 13 Trinamool MPs seen accepting money from Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel in sting operation video. 

The CBI and the Enforcement Directorate have been probing the money trail in the Narada case. 

Others seen in the Narada sting tapes are Firhad Hakim, Mukul Rai, Saugata Roy, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Sultan Ahmed, Subrata Mukherjee, Subhendu Adhikari, Sovan Chatterjee, TMC MP Aparupa Poddar, Madan Mitra, Iqbal Ahmed, Prasun Banerjee and H.M.S. Mirza.

On Monday, TMC lawmaker Sultan Ahmed died in Kolkata after suffering from a sudden cardiac arrest. The 64-year-old lawmaker was immediately rushed to Kolkata’s Belle Vue Clinic hospital, where he passed away later in the day.
