Noida: An Ola cab driver was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Noida’s sector-71 area on Wednesday morning.
According to police, the body of Ajay Singh was found inside the car on the driver’s seat with the seat belt on barely few hundred metres away from the phase-III police station.
The incident took place around 4:30 am on Wednesday.
As to the method of the killing Pradhan added, “He was strangulated and then hit multiple times on the head with a blunt object.
Singh resided in Vijay Nagar at Ghaziabad and hails from Bulandshahr. His family alleged that he had married a woman Devika in March this year, but the woman’s family members objected to their relationship.
“The girl’s family members were not happy with their wedding. In fact, after her wedding she was not allowed to stay with her husband and lived with her family in another sector in Mamura,” said a family member of the victim (who asked not to be named). He added that the woman’s brothers had also thrashed Singh and threatened him some days ago.
On the other hand, investigating officials have revealed that Singh’s wife had denied that her family was involved and has instead alleged that her husband’s cousin might have killed him. “The woman has claimed that the deceased had some personal differences with his family and that is why she is accusing his cousin of the murder,” said a police officer.
Singh was found in the cab barely a few hundred metres away from the police station. While the deceased’s family members have claimed that his wife’s family killed him, his wife, on the other hand, accused one of the Singh’s cousins behind the killing.
