Mumbai: Kapil Sharma, who is all set to make a splash on the silverscreen with his second film Firangi, recently spoke about the possibility of a new show with his former colleague and friend Sunil Grover, with whom he reportedly had an ugly showdown on board a flight in March this year.
The star comedian had then publicly apologised to Sunil for his behaviour and now wishes to extend an olive branch by offering a new show to him.
Kapil had even said that he wanted Sunil to launch the trailer of his film Firangi, but since the latter was in Canada, things couldn’t materialise.
During an interview to Mid-Day, Kapil hinted at a reunion and said, “”Sunil and I haven’t met in a long time, but we chat over messages. He is currently in Canada. As soon as he returns, we will meet up and discuss the possibility of a new show. Hopefully, we should be back together. The rest of the cast members are also ready to come on board.”
Kapil and Sunil’s mid-flight fight had made headlines leaving fans completely disillusioned. Sunil quit The Kapil Sharma Show and didn’t return even after Kapil had apologised to him. After Grover’s exit, things turned awkward for Kapil – the TRP of the show witnessed a deep dip and Kapil’s health started deteriorating.
Talking about the unpleasant episode and the impact it had on him, Kapil said, “”When he had left the show earlier [to pursue his own show, Mad In India], I had dissuaded him from leaving us. This time too, I was sad that our issue had become so big that it had started affecting our friendship. I tried explaining to him that everyone makes mistakes and I too had committed one. But he wouldn’t have any of it.”
TKSS went off air and Kapil flew to Bengaluru to undergo treatment at an Ayurvedic clinic. He returned to Mumbai a few days later to complete his home production – Firangi – which is now slated to hit the silverscreen on November 24.
Fans of Kapil are eagerly looking forward to watch Firangi but we are sure they will be equally thrilled to see their favourite comedian and Sunil back together.
