CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday directed the CBI to produce the status report or the case diary pertaining to the investigation carried by the agency in the Pradhyumn Thakur murder case so far. Justice Surinder Gupta of the HC passed these orders during the hearing of bail petitions filed by Pinto family — the owners of the Ryan Groupof Institutions.
While adjourning the case for November 21, Justice Gupta also made it clear that the stay on the arrest of Pinto family would continue. During the hearing of the case on Friday, counsel for Pinto family senior advocate R S Cheema argued that the petitioners had not been called by the agency for investigation and they were ready to cooperate and appear before CBI whenever required. Cheema also submitted there was nothing against the petitioners for which their arrest was required. Objecting to the bail plea, CBI counsel Sumeet Goel, however, told the court that there was possibility of the owners of the school being member of the conspiracy in the murder case.
“Prima facie careless attitude of the management has aided to the murder of the Pradhyumn. Investigation is at a crucial stage and larger conspiracy is yet to be unearthed. Any relief at this stage may hamper the course of investigation,” Goel told the HC.
