WWE Network reduces India tour to one show.

WWE Network reduces India tour to one show.#NewDelhi: WWE’s invested a lot of time and effort into growing their presence in India. The Network launched there, The New Day and Triple H have been there on promotional tours and, of course, Jinder Mahal won one of the company’s top championships and held it for six months. This was all building to a two-show trip to New Dehli in December.

There have been plenty of signs things weren’t going great with the push, but the biggest might have been when Mahal dropped the WWE title to AJ Styles last Tuesday. At least until today, when Times of India reported that one of the house shows has been cancelled. Or, as company PR officials put it:

“To meet the requests of WWE fans in India, and deliver the biggest main event in the country’s history, WWE is combining two nights of family-friendly action into a one-night only, exclusive Supershow.”

To be fair, we don’t know the exact reason for the move. But it’s difficult to imagine WWE moving to one night if tickets were selling well for two. In addition to confirming Triple H and Jinder as the headliners, the company is also flying in some of NXT’s Indian talent to increase the local appeal for this “Supershow”.

Here’s the updated card for Saturday, Dec. 9:

Jinder Mahal vs. Triple H The Shield vs. Samoa Joe, Cesaro and SheamusBraun Strowman vs. KaneFinn Bálor vs. Bray WyattAlexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s championshipJason Jordan vs. EliasApollo Crews and Titus O’Neil vs. Gallows and AndersonEnzo Amore vs. Kalisto for the Cruiserweight championshipJeet Rama and Kishan Rafter vs. The Miztourage

Fans who’ve purchased tickets for Friday, Dec. 8 can exchange them for ones to Saturday’s show, or get a full refund.

We shall see how this all plays out. But I’d say this bodes well for an extended title run for AJ Styles.
