New Delhi : The Election Commission on Saturday announced that it will conduct a by-poll in West Bengal’s Bhabanipur Assembly Constituency on September 30. It is being reported that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will contest the by-poll from the constituency in order to remain as the CM of the state after she lost the Assembly Election from Nandigram earlier this year to BJP’s Suvendu Adhikar.
The Election Commission further announced that by-polls will also be held in Samserganj and Jangipur of West Bengal and Pipli (Odisha) on September 30. The counting of the votes will be held on October 3, the EC said.
