NewDelhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today slammed the Congress party and its president Mallikarjun Kharge in Rajya Sabha while replying to the ‘Motion of Thanks’ to the President’s Address today. In his reply, PM Modi took a poetic jibe at Kharge using a popular line from a Bollywood song – ‘Aisa mauka fir kaha milega…’. Reacting to Kharge’s speech in the house, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I could not say it that day but I express my special gratitude to Kharge ji. I was listening to him with great attention and enjoyment that day. The lack of entertainment that we were missing in the Lok Sabha was fulfilled by him.”
Modi also said that Congress should gear up for the challenge thrown at them from Bengal (Mamata Banerjee) that the grand old party won’t win more than 40 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
PM Modi said that after hearing the opposition, he has come to a conclusion that the party has become outdated and since it is outdated now, it has outsourced its work as well. PM Modi also said that the ruling party’s sympathy with the Congress for its political collapse.
“I remember the incident from last years. We used to sit in that building and attempts were made to stifle the voices of the PM of the country…Toay too, you have come prepared to not listen. But you can’t suppress my voice. People of the country have strengthened this voice…I too have come prepared this tim,” PM said in his reply to President’s address.
Firing fresh salvo at the Congress, PM Modi said, “…When I hear them, both there and here (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha), my belief is further strengthened that the party (Congress) has become outdated even with their thinking. When their thinking has become outdated, they have outsourced their work…Such a huge party, which ruled the country for decades has seen such a downfall. We are not delighted, our sympathies with you. But what can the doctor do if the patient himself…what do I add?”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said that the Congress that handed over a large part of our land to our enemies, the Congress which stopped the modernisation of the country’s armies, is today giving us speeches on national security and internal security, the Congress which, after independence, They remained confused, whether industries are necessary or farming.
“The Congress could not decide whether nationalisation is important or privatisation…The Congress that brought India’s economy from number 12 to number 11 in 10 years…we brought India’s economy to number 5 in just 10 years and this Congress is here to give us long speeches on economic policies…” PM Modi added.
“The Congress that didn’t give reservations to OBC, one who never gave reservations to the poor from general category, the one who didn’t consider Babasaheb for Bharat Ratna and instead kept on giving Bharat Ratna to their family members, they are giving us lessons on social justice today,” said PM Modi in his reply to the Motion of Thanks on President’s address in Rajya Sabha.
President Droupadi Murmu had addressed the joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on January 31, the first day of the Budget Session. PM Modi replied to the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address in Lok Sabha on Monday.
